Blaze a Trail

This is an opportunity for our youngest campers to attend a camp session from the hours of 9:00 AM—4:00 PM. This camp session will briefly introduce children to our amazing camp experiences all-the-while teaching them the reason for the camp’s existence—proclaiming the Gospel—through unique and fun experiences. 

We are invited to live a life of adventure with Jesus. Jesus blazed a trail for our salvation, and as we follow him, we can live our own life of adventure that points others to Jesus. In Matthew 4:18-22, we read that Peter is called to be a fisher of men. After that encounter with Jesus, Peter found his purpose and embarked on an exciting adventure that pointed others to Jesus. Like Peter, we also have a God-given purpose and our friendship with Jesus can help us to Blaze a Trail for others to follow.

Where are you involved at church?

I am the Children's Minister at Parkside Christian Church. I love getting the chance to model what it looks like to be a Christ follower, speak into the lives of children and their families, and join God on a Kingdom mission of teaching children to love Jesus more and more each day.

What is your favorite Bible verse? 

"Do not fear, for I am with you;

do not be afraid, for I am your God.

I will strengthen you; I will help you; 

I will hold on to you with my righteous right hand.”  (Isaiah 41:10)

What does camp ministry mean to you? 

I grew up attending summer camp at Woodland Lakes and, years later, worked at the camp as a summer staff member. I made so many wonderful and lasting friendships at camp, and God used Woodland Lakes to deepen my relationship with Jesus.

What is your favorite camp memory?

I was baptized at Woodland Lakes by a camp counselor at the end of an awesome week at camp! I'll forever be thankful for the people who poured into me and prayed over me during that specific week at camp as a 5th grader.

What is your favorite dessert? 

I have a serious sweet tooth, but my all-time favorite dessert is Creme Brulee.
